In the aftermath of snowstorm Nemo on Saturday night, I ventured out to check the Direct Action Fashion Show on Avenue C, hosted by the Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space (MoRUS). Just in time for fashion week, and in the name of a fantastic cause (celebrating awareness to environmental, social, and political issues), the models mobilized in full force and brought their A-game donned in various intricate get-ups, which must have taken ages to put together! My personal favorite was the recycled-bottle-cap guy. Halloween/Carnival ideas, anyone?

Below are some snippets from the night. I love the fact that each outfit tells its own story. Here’s to a collection that is both green and fabulous!! After all, what is hotter than combining activism with fashion?

Residents of Extell’s “affordable tower” at 227 Cherry Street are barking foul over the proliferation of pitbulls, despite the no-pet policy.
