The Lower East Side is in for another tasty treat – the 13th Annual Taste of the Lower East Side is headed this way on April 25.  It’s a smorgasbord of local establishments getting together to benefit charity.  Forks at the ready!

The all-you-can-eat-and-drink event, which normally draws loads of attendees, will be held at 82 Mercer.  Proceeds directly benefit the Grand Street Settlement, the neighborhood fixture that serves thousands of economically disadvantaged New Yorkers of all ages on both sides of the Williamsburg Bridge.

The event brings dozens of the city’s most highly acclaimed restaurants and chefs from the downtown area to present their most exciting dishes, desserts, and drinks to attendees. New features include the Wheel of Good Fortune, a giant prize wheel where every spin wins luxury or exclusive items and opportunities worth at least the price to play – but many prizes are worth much, much more. The revamped Silent Auction allows preregistration before the event as well as upon check-in, bidding will be done with scores of ipads and the Auction will be projected for guests to monitor. A preview catalogue is linked to the event website to make snagging that getaway vacation or chef prepared private dinner party that much easier.

This year, TLES will also include a special VIP option ($300pp), for those who want to sample the wares before everyone else.  General admission is a hefty $195 per person, but includes unlimited food and beverage for the course of the evening.
