Network television is duking it out on the streets of the Lower East Side. Both NBC and CBS are working on pilot series that use the neighborhood as set – Ironside and The Ordained respectively.
One day after the reboot of 1967 show Ironside invaded the neighborhood, transforming the Anthology Film Archives into a police station, The Ordained is importing the production squads. Today’s shoot is focused on the lower part of the Bowery near Broome Street and over to Chrystie.
Here’s a brief description of the new CBS drama via Deadline. The executive producer is Rene Balcer a twenty-year veteran of Law & Order.
Directed by RJ Cutler, Ordained centers on Tom Reilly (Charlie Cox), the son of a Kennedy-esque family who leaves the priesthood and becomes a lawyer at a top New York firm to prevent his politician sister Packy (Hope Davis) from being assassinated. Sam Neill, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Jorge Garcia and Audra McDonald co-star.
