[Photo: Daily News]On a quiet February morning, the deranged 28-year-old Ming Guang Huang attacked his wife with a meat cleaver outside 74 Canal Street. The scuffle caught the attention of firefighters across the street at the Chinatown Dragon Fighters HQ. Jose Ortiz and his comrades immediately responded to the altercation, and quickly subdued the attacker.
Huang, a Brooklyner, was indicted for his crimes last week. He is charged with first-degree assault and second-degree kidnaping, and is due back in court on June 12.
His 23-year-old wife, meanwhile, had to undergo intensive surgery at Bellevue. Apparently the blade penetrated her skull and “pierced her brain.”
