Kupersmith on Clinton Kicks the Bucket; Tacos on the Way

Over at 49 Clinton Street, the lights are out, gates drawn, and phone lines dead. Kupersmith is kaput, it seems, having lasted barely two years after switching identities. You’ll recall that Clerkenwell worked with a crew of SVA students to help with the business pivot. It was a decent run, but now a replacement is on the way. Some sort of taco operation, right on the heels of the new Calexico space around the corner.

Mining Community Board 3, we see that something called “The Taco Project” is vying for an on-premise liquor license at next week’s SLA subcommittee meeting. The nine-table eatery will have twenty-eight seats and seventeen-foot bar; delivery service within a five-block radius is also planned.

Just remember that delivery men can’t fit both the mail and the tacos in the bag…
