And there it is. REVOK and POSE finally completed their masterpiece at the Bowery graffiti wall. The two MSK street artists have been busy onsite since last week, active predominantly during nighttime hours. Watching from the beginning was intriguing, especially the use of gridlines as guide. The finished product is something to fawn over.

The two-story masterpiece is a colorful collage of comic book stylings that doubles as a memorial mural. REVOK and POSE pay tribute to fallen street artists like Nekst, IZ, and Dondi. Images and text are painted around the spine of the phrase “Uphill Both Ways.”

There were some memorable moments during this interim period, though. For instance, on night two, REVOK and POSE let a pair of young girls test out the spray cans. Or when the easternmost portion of the wall was tagged by a hater before the mural work concluded.

This high-profile commissioned piece coincides with the current tandem show at the Jonathan Levine Gallery.
