Out of the gate for just over six months, the Tim Horton’s/Cold Stone combo at 203 East Houston is closed, albeit temporarily. The new corporate outpost, which debuted in December 2012, pulled down the shutters last week due to “utility line maintenance” in the vicinity. A sign posted to the storefront notes displays that info to customers.
The work referenced is likely the infrastructural upgrade underway just outside its doors. That Houston headache that’s been plaguing downtown for at least a decade. Updates on the Community Board 3 website [PDF] indicate that five simultaneous “operations” are in play, all of which address water main installation and sewer maintenance.
