Bowery Lighting Update: Lighting Library Becomes Halloween Store

It’s been a few months since we last touched upon the embattled Bowery lighting district. Our latest walkabout revealed some closures and the imminent arrival of a Halloween store. Guess it’s never too early for that. Anyway, onward…
The Lighting Library/Classic Lighting combo at 140-142 Bowery went dark many moons ago. The decapitated Federal-style row house is that much more somber. Both ground level showrooms are littered with the sorry remains of busted fixtures and other electric sundries. It’s not pretty. But the mess will disappear by October, when, as this new sign reveals, a temporary Halloween store is to open. Yep, costume shopping on the Bowery. Get ready!
Meanwhile, that homeless dude and his weeks-old shanty have vanished…
