Dunkin Donuts was recently in the papers with news of tallying 500 franchised locations in the city. Factored into this calculation are two new locations on the Lower East Side. As previously reported, 351 Grand Street will soon run on Dunkin, spelling heightened competition for nearby Flowers Cafe; the concurrent build-out at 201 Madison resulted in an opening a couple weeks ago.

This latest Madison Street outpost is pimped with the symbiotic Baskin Robbins, as well as a takeout window.

That’s three total Dunkin’ Donuts franchises within walking distance when counting the outpost on Delancey.

Madison was previously home to a neighborhood pizza joint.

Fridays Under $40: Three Meals in Chinatown

On Monday, when The New York Times reported on Chinatown’s outdoor dining scene, it was the first time I was happy to be scooped. The more we talk about Chinatown, the better.
