Here comes Girls. Yet again. The HBO production is returning to the Lower East Side today, specifically the Bowery mid-section and points west. For those counting, that’s three times in the neighborhood within the last couple weeks (here’s Allison Williams on Orchard Street).

In other Lena Dunham news, the Girls star was the keynote speaker at a fundraiser Tuesday night for comptroller candidate Scott Stringer. She noted that “the [SoHo] building that I was born in houses a Victoria’s Secret and is next door to a Sephora. Anyway, we can’t have our generation’s Patti Smith moving to Tampa. That’s going to seriously fuck our shit up.”

As many gossip rags asked yesterday, who is the Patti Smith of Lena Dunham’s generation? All answers welcome!
