Today we present two hype videos of the New York City subway system, both separated by some thirty years. Each thirty-second snippet – one from the 1940s and the other from the 1970s – talks about the amazing advantages of the transit option.
This one from the 1940s explains the benefits of traveling by subway.
The PSA from the 1970s carries with it the added flavor of hyperbole. Our favorite sound byte – “a modern concerto; ever the same ever changing. Moving. Exciting. Always something new. Pleasurable. Memorable.” Pre-AC days … nothing pleasurable about that.
