Stop Kidnapping the Plants Outside Joy’s Flowers on Hester

Joy’s Flowers and Gifts opened in the spring of 2012, and became a most welcome establishment. There’s a shortage of quality florists in the neighborhood, and this spot at 40 Hester Street fits the bill. Joy will outfit your apartment with all the greenery you might need, even if the tenement gets little to no sunlight. Price points are fair, as well.
Meanwhile, the flower shop just reopened after a brief summer vacation, and they’re still sick of people stealing plants from outside. This obscured urban etiquette signage pleads with would-be thieves to stop kidnapping the plants. The planting square out front has become a hub of growth, no doubt attracting said offenders. This type of “green” theft is not uncommon on the Lower East Side.
