“Girls” on the Bowery

Paint-by-numbers murals for HBO’s Girls are popping up around downtown. Here’s one at the corner of Bowery and Prince, illustrated on the facade of Bari Restaurant Equipment. Completed just a few days ago, this one portrays Lena Dunham and her crazy friends in a strange candid pose. As if to say, “look how cool we are.” Its placement is somewhat relevant given that the show often films near this spot.

Let’s see if this particular ad gets defaced like the piece spotted on 12th Street in the East Village.

Season 3 of Girls premieres January 12 on HBO with two back-to-back episodes. And in case you missed it, below is the second teaser trailer, released earlier this week.
