Sebastian LC is taking over more of 81 Ludlow

Four years into operations as Sebastian LC, and owner Kouger Ahmed is ready to expand into the enormous adjacent space. This alteration to the method of operation was cautiously approved in August by Community Board 3 (there are numerous 311 complaints against the establishment).

The French/Cuban-style restaurant will use the extra space at 81 Ludlow for more dining and an additional stand-up bar. A raw bar serving various seafood options is also in the cards. Also, even though the spaces are connected via basement, the new digs will reportedly sport an autonomous entrance. Below is a rough diagram of what to expect from this extension…

Work is already underway. DOB permits were obtained two months ago for the transformation. And as of this week, a new plywood enclosure covers the facade. Gut renovation transpires within.
