Hair of the Dog’s Sidewalk Cafe License Up for Renewal

Even a year after its opening (two since first signing on), it’s still difficult to accept that douchey frat-hole Hair of the Dog replaced longtimer Cafe Charbon at 168 Orchard Street. Much more commotion emanates from this spot nowadays, but especially during warmer weather, when the corner-hogging sidewalk cafe is in full effect (chairs run along both Orchard and Stanton). But its status is currently in limbo.
Hair of the Dog must now renew its “unenclosed” sidewalk cafe license. According to the notice pasted onto their doorway, the bar is scheduled to appear before the Department of Consumer Affairs tomorrow. They’ll probably sail through with little issue.
