The FDNY Bravest Boxing team is giving it the old one-two for charity in two short weeks. The team has accepted an international challenge, taking on The Garda Club, a group of fighters from the Irish National Police Force and Dublin Fire Brigade. They’re dubbing it “Downtown Donnybrook” and it’ll be at Webster Hall in early March.

Over the past few years, Bravest Boxing has raised a significant sum for charities – over $50k, in fact – and have recently supported Building Homes for Heroes, an organization that builds handicap accessible homes for veterans who have been severely wounded in combat. A worthy prizefight.

There are 10 action packed bouts scheduled between the two teams for the 2014 Transatlantic Championship. This is the first ever meeting between the two clubs who have previously only competed against each other in the World Police-Fire Games.

It’s all going down on March 6. Doors are at 6pm, first jab’s at 7pm. Get your tickets ($25 GA, $50 VIP ringside) here.

As previously reported, the city quietly raised all rates the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. […]

The new […]
