Plywood just returned to the southwest corner of Bowery and East Houston, where Keith McNally is busy readying the replacement of Pulino’s Pizzeria. Workers constructed the shed last week, and it’s already covered in the obligatory ad bills, graffiti, and art. Just like the good ole days of 282 Bowery…

Pizza wasn’t cutting it for McNally, so a new French restaurant called Cherche Midi will allegedly debut later this month. Although, this does seem unlikely. Chefs at the helm are Shane McBride (currently executive chef of Balthazar) and Daniel Parilla (currently head sous chef of Minetta Tavern).

Meanwhile, a website is now live for Cherche Midi. No real information of value on their at the moment, just the ambiguous “opening spring.”
