Mexicue Abandons Forsyth Street; New Midtown Location Underway

Back in November, the word on the street was that the Mexicue truck-restaurant combo was expanding operations to the stem of Times Square. It would occupy 1440 Broadway in a glassy new storefront. Turns out that the additional location came at the expense of the three-year-old subterranean spot on Forsyth Street. This restaurant shuttered weeks ago.
One lonesome leasing sign now hangs from the facade, essentially negating what’s left of the Mexicue identity. According to the verbiage, the landlord no longer wants food for this 1,600 square-foot space.
Mexicue first opened at 106 Forsyth Street almost back in September 2011. It had been their second outpost.
That’s a wrap.
