COPE2 Is the Next Artist Painting the Bowery Graffiti Wall

It’s here again – the quarterly changing of the guard at the Bowery graffiti wall. The telltale sign of torch-passage, a mechanized lift, arrived at the northwest corner of Bowery and East Houston last Thursday ahead of the newest paint job. Perfectly timed, too, as Maya Hayuk’s patterned plaid recently became targeted by a string of errant tags. Yet again.
The lucky artist painting the two-story wall for springtime is COPE2. Mural work began yesterday morning, and continued through till dusk. We now have a collection of colorful bubble tags.
