In due course, Supreme will have some company in the skate culture sphere of Lafayette Street. The twenty-year-old downtown beacon will soon be challenged by a likeminded brand. Possibly too close for comfort – three doors to the north.

Workers toiling at 286 Lafayette Street reveal that misleadingly-named Diamond Supply Co. is reportedly opening a flagship SoHo location at this address. Founded in 1994, the lifestyle company specializes in building skateboards and selling complementary streetwear.

The DOB approved permits for the construction at the end of May, so build-out has only just begun. Once complete, this will be the second outpost of the LA-based company.
