Director Colin Read (aka Mandible Claw) just uploaded the epic subway skate segment from his 2013 film, Tengu: God of Mischief. So, if you haven’t had a chance to peep the whole movie, this three-minute clip below will satisfy. For now.
Read told Gothamist back in January that the skaters and crew were turned on by the “whole world of unexplored skate spots” around the city, particularly rooftops and subway cars. But that fascination would take two years of filming before the high-stakes skate video would be ready for the masses. The footage was all shot “secretly,” and no one was hurt or “in trouble” during the process. Kudos.
