The Bowery Graffiti Wall is Being Torn Apart Right Now

As construction progresses at 76 East Houston, the adjacent graffiti wall suffers. That two-story paneled enclosure of the original concrete slab is currently being stripped of its artwork (that of Cope2). You can easily view the damage from behind the sidewalk bridge or via the gratuitous blogger portals.

As previously reported, a new two-story commercial building is on the way to 76 East Houston. It’ll offer 2,928 square-feet of space. Billy LeRoy probably won’t be reviving the antiques store in the new development. However, we are hearing that the graffiti wall is to remain, despite current conditions. The onsite rendering reveals as much.
