For the second time this season, Katz’s Deli on the Lower East Side successfully fought off two would-be trademark thieves.
That Katz’s copycat in Deerfield, Florida we told you about last month just surrendered. The two parties reportedly settled the dispute. The real deal’s owner Jake Dell told us, “they recognized that we were right legally and morally, and agreed to change the name to avoid further litigation.”
That new entity is a word jumble of the same letters – ZaK’s.
It was obviously willful infringement in order to garner greater business on their part. Street justice.
