It’s been a veritable retail bloodbath for the three tenements comprising 149-153 Ludlow Street. In total, three businesses have been lost here in as many weeks. The recent departure of Blessed Peacemakers and Portia & Manny is now met with the closure of the simple New York Barbers at number 153. Security shutters are locked, and the store itself is without furniture.

The barbershop served exactly three years at this address, and proved a (slightly) cheaper alternative to the knot of salons currently in Hell Square, including Pimps and Pinups just a few steps north.

New York Barbers still maintains a location in Forest Hills.
