Katz’s Deli Unveils Commemorative Plaque in Its New Sidewalk

The sidewalk outside Katz’s Deli has been a broken mess for years thanks to an endless regimen of roadwork and a burst water main. But this past weekend, contractors completed the new curb and concrete slabs.
Most notable about the upgraded footpath, though, is this embedded plaque at the unique corner entrance to the landmark restaurant. It commemorates the 1888 opening. Hopefully this means that the deli will remain here for at least another couple generations of family ownership.
