Rosette closes after service night, much earlier than we expected. Ron Castellano’s restaurant lasted barely a year on East Broadway, a tenure likely expedited by the recent departure of head chef Nick Curtin. We reported last week that a new Chinese restaurant is planning to open here. Well, eagle-eyed Eater discovered that Danny Bowien is the mystery newcomer.
Mission Chinese, hat in hand, having pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes with a fake name of Andrew Yang at 171 East Broadway. Touché, Bowien. Touché.
Bowien will therefore appear before Community Board 3 on Monday night to seek approval for this sale of assets.
The Rosette space is huge, so there is quite a bit of room to work with. As for this neighborhood, it’s now the focal point of foodie adoration. Only a matter of time.
