Popular fast-casual food stand, Yuji Ramen, vacated the Bowery Whole Foods over the summer. Chef-owner Yuji Haraguchi pulled the plug and decided to combine the concept into his new Williamsburg restaurant Okonomi. Its departure left a vacancy on the second floor, which was just recently filled.
Whole Foods vertically integrated, and installed its “latest food adventure” upstairs. It’s dubbed “BBQ,” and offers just that. Shoppers can stuff face with a selection of six meat sandwiches (one veggie seitan) and a bunch of fixins. “Naked” meat by the pound is also available.
