Katz’s Deli Teams Up With The Grinch To Serve a ‘Roast Beast’ Sandwich This Holiday Season

Katz’s Deli is ringing in the holidays by joining forces with one of the season’s most nefarious, misunderstood characters – the Grinch. Owner Jake Dell is crafting a limited edition sandwich for their holiday menu – that of the “Roast Beast” variety. No word yet on if they’ve locked down the cartoon or Jim Carey for the carving.
(Fun fact: the voice of the Grinch in the classic 1966 animated version was by Boris Karloff, who also starred as the monster in the Frankenstein movies from the 1930s. Fitting?)
The menu’s newest seasonal offering appears to be a promotional pairing between Katz’s and Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical, which is playing at the Theater at Madison Square Garden from December 5 through December 28.
We were hard pressed to find any sandwich specifics yet (other than it’ll be roast beast), but feel pretty confident in saying it won’t be a sauerkraut and toadstool sandwich, with arsenic sauce.
