Home Espresso Bar failed out of 250 Broome Street back in July; evicted by the landlord. Well, a replacement just signed the lease last Thursday morning. Another miniscule eatery is on the way. No sooner was the ink dry than this branded fork appeared in the window (“Keep calm and eat kottu”), announcing the forthcoming arrival of Kottu House.

Kottu House has been playing caterer and private party host since last spring, yet will now try its luck with a Lower East Side brick-and-mortar. At the new 250 Broome Street digs, the eatery will serve its namesake dish, a traditional dinner fare native to Sri Lanka.

Given that 250 Broome is already built for food use, expect an opening rather soon.
