City to Repave 3-Block Stretch of East Houston Tonight (Finally)

The decade long capital works project to replace infrastructure along the Houston Street corridor (“reconstruction”) is edging closer to completion.
While endless digging and traffic reorganization continue plaguing Allen Street/First Avenue, a new pave job is about to commence just a block to the east. Road work between Orchard and Norfolk was capped with new tree-anchored medians last spring; the street itself was scratched into submission a couple weeks ago in preparation for the new surfacing.
Paving begins tonight at 8pm and will last until 6am tomorrow morning. That fresh coat of asphalt will be most welcome in these parts, especially after such an extended period of disarray.
What’s the over/under on when the jackhammers appear to tear up the road anew?
