‘Hair Queen’ Replaces Dickson Hairshop on Allen Street

Dickson Hairshop on Allen Street ceased operations at the end of July after seven years in business, as previously disclosed. Cause of its demise was the deteriorating health of its eponymous owner Severin Dickson. We learned at the time that he was struck with the autoimmune disease called Sarcoidosis, which hindered him from operating the salon. There are apparently no cures for the ailment, only treatments.
Meanwhile, the two-chair chop shop upstairs at 123 Allen has a new lease on life. The strangely-named successor Hair Queen opened here not too long ago and is apparently going strong. The owners held onto popular Dickson stylist Veronika Zauscher Ramos … as well as the old-school window leafing.
