In the melting pot of Little Italy, Asiadog was the perfect fit with its “Asian-inspired” hot dogs. Vendor veteran of all the top local food festivals, this grab-and-go joint became the company’s first permanent location back in 2010. For five years, it was a fairly popular option with the locals; “was” being the operative word.

Asiadog closed the shop at 66 Kenmare Street last week, having decided not to renew their lease. No big announcements or huge closing parties. Rather, a simple laminated farewell letter affixed to the shuttered gates.

It hints at the possibility of a bigger location in the future. Full text below:

To our loyal customers and dear fans –

When we signed on to open our first brick and mortar here in 2010, five years seemed liked eons away. Now our lease is up and we regret to have to say that we did not renew.

We thank you for your endless support and look forward to a bigger (yes, physically bigger) future.

In the meantime, please come visit us at our Brooklyn location at 899 Bergen Street or our numerous markets starting in the spring including Brooklyn Flea, Smorgasburg, and Madison Square Eats.
