Marvel Comics and Five Four Collaboration Launching Bowery Pop-Up This Weekend

Comic book-inspired fashion is headed to the Bowery this weekend.

In a rather strange pairing, Marvel Comics recently jumped in bed with the monthly shopping club Five Four to create a limited-edition collection. The new collaboration is described in media materials as the “conclusion of two brands coming together around their desire to constantly interpret and evolve both the familiar and the iconic.” Here is a visual…

The joint venture is utilizing the Openhouse cornershop at 168 Bowery for a pop-up marketing stunt beginning Saturday morning. Windows were dressed yesterday to pimp the pairing, its presentation of mannequins already turning heads of pedestrians and motorists alike. But the shop is not open to the public. Only members of the Five Four Club can gain exclusive access to shell out money at this “exhibition.”

Five Four is similar to Birchbox. Each month, the company assembles a package of fashion goodies based on your own style. So-called stylists then mail the parcels for a $60 fee per month.
