It’s a spicy treat that only comes around once a year, and that time has arrived anew. Yes, the Pickle Guys of Essex Street are ready to grind fresh horseradish in anticipation of the Jewish holiday of Passover.
The street spectacle – always fodder for photographers – is set to begin next Sunday (March 22). Expect the usual sidewalk operation with gas-masked grinder and queues of tourists. Worth the wait, though, should you need to stock your fridge or seder plate with the requisite bitter herbs.
