Charlie Bird Confirmed for Former Toby’s Public House on Kenmare Street

Team Charlie Bird is, in fact, taking over the space at 86 Kenmare Street, as first reported yesterday.
Eater follows up on our story, noting that sommelier Robert Bohr confirmed that he and partners Grant Reynolds and chef Ryan Hardy are working on a new restaurant at the old Toby’s Public House. The 50-seat establishment will make use of the wood-fired oven utilized by the previous occupant. Chef Tim Caspare (Eleven Madison Park, Quince and Cotogna) is also on board.
The space will be designed by the same firm behind Charlie Bird (Leroy Street Studio). Expect a similar setup, albeit smaller, with windows that open onto the street. That’ll sure rile up the neighbors.
Even though Charlie Bird says it’s a wine-driven restaurant, the crew still seeks a full liquor license.
Identity and opening date haven’t been bestowed yet.
