The Y Gallery is again on the move, having recently secured its third home in four years. Two weeks ago, the sub-level gallery at 165 Orchard Street relocated to an upstairs location further downtown below Delancey. The Pink Building (once known as Ridley’s Department Store), to be exact.
The smallish showroom now resides on the fifth floor 319 Grand Street. Its current exhibit is a group show called “There is Only One Catch and that is Catch 22.”
Y Gallery had moved to 165 Orchard in March 2011 after a brief stint on the Bowery. It replaced the much beloved Sound Library, one of the last record stores on the Lower East Side (below East Houston).
