Here we go again.

Marvel’s new Netflix series – AKA Jessica Jones – is back on the Lower East Side for two consecutive days of filming. Today and tomorrow, production will be headquartered in the vicinity of Essex and Stanton Streets. As before, the scattered “no parking” signs carry the misleading title of “Violet,” you know, to throw would-be paparazzi off the scent.

This filming sesh comes a week after a quick Bowery tenancy and an explosion sequence up at Vazac’s Horseshoe Bar on Avenue B. The latter required quite a bit of planning from the Office of Emergency Management.

AKA Jessica Jones focuses on a character who, “after a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.”
