First Look Inside Philly-Based ‘PYT’ Burger on the Bowery

Here is your first introduction to PYT on the Bowery, a couple months after its proverbial flag was planted.
The Philadelphia-based burger export has been readying 334 Bowery since June, and is thisclose to opening. Vague timetable given by employees was sometime in “early October.” For the time being, though, the windows are unobstructed and perfect for peekers.
Dining area is dotted with stool seating, both at a bar and countertop near the entrance. There is also a PYT-branded arcade cabinet holding court at the back of the establishment.
The PYT guessing game first began last February when the restaurant announced plans to enter the New York market. Its location was finally confirmed as 334 Bowery over the summer.
PYT master Tommy Up told Eater back in July what customers can expect from the menu here:
We’re bringing our monster sellers: Cheesesteak Pretzel Roll, The Pickelback, our PYT Burger, The Calibunga veggie burger and rotating in our hall of famers: Deep Fried Twinkie Burger, Lasagna Bun Burger and the trashy but tasty Elliot’s Pizza Burger. The D’oh Nut Cheesteak Burger will also be making its NYC debut!
[There’s also] the CBGB Burger. It pays respect to our Bowery location and our DIY work ethic: Cheddar, beef, garlic bread bun, and bacon.
The burger could prove antidote to the apparent hex on this property. A rash of restaurants in recent years – Forcella, Espoleta, and Gia Trattoria – all failed.
