Clinton Baking Co. expansion next door

Originally slated for a mid-September launch, the Clinton Street Baking Company remains behind schedule on its highly-anticipated extension at the corner of East Houston. In the interim, though, an expansion of another kind. Fluffing up its international holdings, you might say.

Indeed, the popular Lower East Side export – helmed by Neil Kleinberg and Dede Lahman – recently unveiled a new pancake house in Singapore. Chef Garry Edgley is the big cheese in the kitchen, whisking up token treats like buttermilk fried chicken and waffles, pancakes with warm maple butter, chocolate peanut butter milkshakes, and grenade-sized scones make with aged and orange cheddar.

Apparently the interior is “considerably less claustrophobic” than the original headquarters. A description that will change once the larger dining room opens, and crowding is alleviated (presumably).

Singapore is the fourth overall location for Clinton Street Baking Company, and third outside the country behind Tokyo and Dubai.
