Dimes isn’t the only Lower East Side cafe doubling down on the “D” (for deli). Let’s head five blocks north.
Two months after breaking the news, the Dudley’s expansion remains in the renovation phase. Crinkled brown paper is still the only sight at 87 Orchard Street, where the popular Australian eatery plans to install complementary service.
As previously reported, Dudley’s seized the former Guss’ Pickles outpost next door, and will create a “grab and go” takeaway concept. We’re told that the menu is slightly different from the corner location, and that they’ll offer a “market” style service including dry goods. Sound familiar?
Well, Dudley’s is also adding some alliteration to its name. A sign out front teases “coming soon,” next to the moniker Dudley’s Deli.
Dudley’s opened on Orchard Street in 2012, having replaced longtimer Tiny Giant.
