It’s turning out to be quite the centennial for MOSCOT. The iconic Lower East Side optical company will expand yet again. This time across the pond to the United Kingdom.
Next month, Manhattan-based MOSCOT will debut its flagship store in London’s West End neighborhood. Like its other locations around the world, 37 Beak Street will carry the same quirky selection for which the brand is famous. The expansion comes five months after the fifth-generation business planted a flag on Japanese soil in Tokyo.
MOSCOT boasts three domestic outposts, but is headquartered at 108 Orchard Street. You’ll recall the eyewear brand crossed Delancey back in the spring of 2013 after their previous home of seventy-seven years was purchased by Helm Equities for $4.8 million. (The new 12-story tower is still pending.)
