The historic Puck Building at East Houston and Lafayette Street is glowing in its new identity of luxury housing. Just look to the studded base of the building itself.

In a surprising turn of events, that “distinctive sidewalk” (in design-speak) outside the city landmark was just illuminated for the first time in forever. There had been some construction work in years past on this perimeter infrastructure. Now the dotted pattern of textured glass pucks burns bright in the nighttime hours.
Perhaps the new-old decoration is again operational due to those upper crust Puck Penthouses overlooking us plebs, where one such unit is looking to fetch $66 million. You don’t pay that kinda dough and not have it working…
