With the funky Bess boutique gone from SoHo, a replacement is found. A temporary one, at that.

It took seven months, but there is now life anew at 298 Lafayette Street. Window wrapping on premise announces the imminent opening of a new temporary shop from Rhone Apparel. The brand specializes in athletic gear such as shirts, pants, and shorts. Basically, “activewear built to stand up to the rigors of daily, life, the demands of the gym and everything in between.” Guess that “everything in between” includes walking the streets of the city, too.

The pop-up store, a first for Rhone Apparel, opens next Thursday (October 15) and will remain at 298 Lafayette through the end of the holiday season (i.e. January 2016).

As for the predecessor, Bess first opened on Lafayette Street back in 2006, having relocated from its longtime HQ at 7 Bond Street. The brand is the collective brainchild of husband-wife team Doug and Bess Abraham.
