Starbucks on Delancey Street Loses Its Branded Awnings

The token green-and-white awnings are gone. Stripped from the facade of 80 Delancey Street. No, Starbucks isn’t closing its sole Lower East Side outpost. We should be so lucky!
Apparently there was some sort of collision “incident” that required removal of the branded signage. The now-phantom Starbucks operates with the more aesthetically pleasing (i.e. original) wooden shingles for a marquee. A replacement is probably on the way.
In related news, Starbucks recently celebrated its tenth anniversary at 80 Delancey, having opened here in August 2005.
