Rise & Grind Tattoo Calls it Quits on Clinton Street

Rise & Grind was apparently spelled with washable ink. That upstairs tattoo parlor at 9 Clinton Street shuttered last month after two years in business. A hit to the Lower East Side tattoo scene.
There isn’t much notice to the community about the closure or why it happened. Perhaps the lack of foot traffic and overall visibility (it was kinda out of sight) took its toll. The store now sits empty, awaiting the next in line.
“Rise and grind” is a slang replacement for the phrase “rise and shine,” meaning wake up and get going.
