Those looking to rep the neighborhood take note: Manhattan’s Community Board applications for 2016 are still available. Landing a seat on a Community Board is not unlike landing a job; apps will be reviewed, followed by an interview process, and final decisions announced sometime this coming April.
It bears repeating that thanks to Borough President Gale Brewer backing Resolution 115 (which passed back in June of 2014), 16 and 17 year olds can now apply to sit on community boards. The application reflects as such, with fields pertaining to schools currently attending and an updated age bracket in the demographic drop down box of “16-17.”
To be considered for the gig, a completed application must be submitted online, postmarked by, or delivered to Borough President Gale Brewer’s office no later than 5pm Friday, January 29, 2016. Get your application here.
