It’s one of about a dozen unique tenements on the nearly untouched stretch of Broome Street, between Orchard and Ludlow. From the exterior perspective, most of the buildings on this block are intact (except for the southwest corner of Ludlow), feeding into the “museum block” feel spearheaded by the Tenement Museum.
Yet that doesn’t stop the wheeling and dealing of property. For instance, the latest property to sell is 249-251 Broome. According to public record, one Mark Silver (aka Broome Partners LLC) shelled out $12.3 million to acquire the six-story walkup. Until this transaction in late October, the property had been under the same ownership for some three decades – seller Kuo Chiang Chang (MHK Realty).
