It’s gentrification happening right before your eyes. Grand Street between Allen and the Bowery is another ground zero, where galleries are seizing stores vacated by longtime open-air markets and other Chinese shops. And into that fray steps a new ice cream shop.

Something called Celsius Ice Cream recently signed a lease for the high-visibility corner of Allen and Grand (#302 Grand). The one that’s seen some variation of bodega, fruit vendor, or bus stop for the last decade.

Little information is known about this ice cream vendor, other than work has been ongoing for the last month and that it’s Flushing-based. (Building permits with the DOB reflect the job.) Its sleek branded awning debuted a couple days ago.
