Five months of promises culminated in the opening yesterday of the Moemen King. The new Mediterranean snack shop, which replaced Los Perros Locos at 201 Allen Street, had been under construction since last October.

The menu includes selections you might expect. Hummus platters, falafel sandwiches, and grilled fare (Shawarma, kebabs). Price points skew toward the expensive. A standard issue shawarma sandwich will cost you $9; hummus plates start at $8.

The restaurant is more grab-and-go, and boasts limited seating options: a two-top table and window counter seating.

We asked the owner whether the location is Kosher. Nope. It’s apparently traditional Hallal.
