The Perfect Picnic just traded its cellar digs on Ludlow Street for another underground spot a few blocks to the west.
Indeed, after four years in Hell Square, proprietor Wendy Weston relocated her prefab picnic-in-a-bag business to the basement of 81 Allen Street. Much like the previous location, beneath the sidewalk hatches is a room of shelves stocked with food and materials.
The Perfect Picnic offers seven options for your outing, with price points ranging from $10 (kids version) to $500 (ultimate picnic).
The basement business first planted roots on the Lower East Side years ago, with a location at 9 Clinton Street. Weston later moved the operation to the basement of 122 Ludlow.
